Don't forget: I don't finish (my non-USMLE based curriculum) school exams until the 10th of June!
Then I still have to pack, move, fly home, do triathlon, etc...I basically will have 4 weeks to study for it. I am hoping that will be enough. [Enter sinking sensation in stomach].
Grump--I see bermuda shorts and PB sandwiches in my future...
27 days for me. We finish class tomorrow. Do lots of practice questions and you'll be fine ... just don't wait until you finish school to start. Carve out time to do some each day if you haven't already started.
Yeah I have been trying to review biochem (weakest link--goodbye!) a few times a week...and I try and go through about 100 practice questions on the weekends.
It's a hard balance--when I do USMLE I feel guilty for neglecting school work and vise versa.
Just keep doing practice questions and don't forget to breathe. This is going to be an "oh man, I'm so glad that is over" memory in a year. Whenever I felt totally overwhelmed by medical school (most times in the first two years), I would tell myself that the medical school's JOB is picking people who can make it through medical school and its 75 million dollars in step exams. Even if I didn't think that I knew what I was doing, I tried to have faith that they knew what they were doing when they picked me. Keep going.
Ah -- 6 weeks of protected time (without class) should be more than enough. Nevermind then, for some reason I thought you were done with the other stuff.
Sarah--I like the way you think! hahah I hope you are right.
OMDG--I hope so, I figured any longer and I'd want to poke out my eyes, any shorter and I wouldn't be ready. Hard to know exactly where the sweet spot is. I doubt I'll ever really feel ready, at some point you just have to jump!
You can do it! I have no personal advice, but I like what Sarah had to say. Also don't forget all the many steps that you've already taken to get to this point.
Good luck! You'll be through it both too soon and not soon enough. I'm am in a similar boat with Step 3 scheduled 30 days from now and burnout-worthy duty hours.

Dude, that's way too much time. Can you move it up so you get some vacation after? 6 weeks should be more than enough.
Hang in there! If I could pass them, you can too.
Er...too much time?

Good luck yourself!
You're gonna be fine! And then they'll be over and you can relax for a couple of days.
