These guys are geniuses.
Really. The "lookey-loo" and the impatient patient have never been depicted so accurately in any medium.
If you've ever worked in the ER setting you'll definitely get a chuckle out of these posts.
Classic.
My only question is why do I rarely come across folks with this humor in the ED's I've worked in? Everyone just seems to take themselves so damn seriously.
Props to these guys (or gals...I think they are guys...).

That's when you park a hall bed with a peri-rectal abscess directly in front of their curtain.
Ah yes...the peri-rectal abscess.
Or, if you have one on hand, someone suffering from anticholinergic syndrome (you know the old "blind as a bat, red as a beet, mad as a hatter"...etc).
I had one that repeated "Port Alberni! Port Alberni Pooooorrrrttt Alberni!" at the top of his lungs for my entire 12h shift once. Though sheer annoyance he kept the lookey-loo's at bay...though the entire staff just about needed a haldol shot by the end of it. Pretty much worth the trade off in my mind.
Who hasn't screamed port alberni for 12 hrs? Clearly you need to live a little...
LOL...if only you knew how true that statement was...
12 hours?
I get a bit horse long before that, so I carry a recording of some of my clearest, loudest chanting of "Port Alberni." And spare batteries - can't disappoint the fans. :-)
Yup, 12h...I have several witnesses that'll vouch.
:)
The funniest part was that his inflection was that of surprise each time...it was more like "Port Alberni?"
hahahah Poor guy. He definitely fell into the "mad as a hatter" part of the presentation that night!
Ah goodness. Never a dull moment in the ED.
