First Day of Surgery Rotation, Take 1

It is 2355h and I walked in the door about 20 mins ago. I've only just finished scrubbing the layers of peat moss and bog water off me (long story) but I thought I ought to give a quick update.

Surgery=AWESOME

I have the privilege of being with a surgeon who is not only talented but nice. He's got a great team and I think I am really going to have a fabulous experience.

Really excited. And happy. And relieved.

Until tomorrow...good night!

Sweet! I can't wait to hear more about your experience; surgery is what I'm leaning towards even though I haven't started medical school yet.

I know, I know, my interests will probably change. =/

I'm excited to read about it anyways!

That's awesome luck. Is it just Gen Surg, or does he specialize?
Excited that you're now part of the "actually doing shit in medical school" club.

Glad you found a nice surgeon - they make all the difference. I had a great surgeon for my general surgery rotation, and he let me scrub in on a lot of interesting surgeries (including a ruptured diverticulum and a cecal volvulus) despite not being remotely interested in surgery as a career. It made the time go by much faster.

Like others, I look forward to hearing more.

Yay! Surgery was my favorite rotation because I adored the residents and attendings. Maybe I got lucky but it can happen!
